Is it really free?
Yes. No sign up, no watermark, no minute limit. The speech model runs on your own device, so there is nothing to pay for.
Is my audio uploaded?
No. The file is decoded and transcribed inside your browser. Only the speech model is downloaded once, then cached.
Which languages and files work?
99 languages with auto-detect (English, Spanish, Hindi, German, Arabic, Japanese…). Any file your browser plays: MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG, OPUS, FLAC, MP4, MOV, WebM.
Fast or Accurate?
Fast (Whisper Base) is fine for clear speech. Accurate (Whisper Small) handles accents, noise and non-English audio better, but downloads more and runs slower.
How do I make subtitles?
Drop the video, wait for the transcript, press .srt. YouTube, Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and CapCut import it directly.
Can I do this on my phone, offline?
